"Compelled" is, I think, a rather strange word to use in this context
Michael.
How the monopoly of credit creation came about in this country, the UK,
has much more to do with greed and heavy lobbying of an undemocratic
society, in an age of patronage.
Even if we only go back to the creation of the private bank of england, I
would like to believe that such a proposal made now would be laughed out
of Parliament for its impertinence :-)
For the tickets you speak of DO need to be created, unless of course we
think we could still operate our much more complex society on the basis of
barter.
I am afraid I do not grasp the point you make about the nation, and loss
of goods Michael.
Would you care to explain please?
Ken.

"If the loan was created out of nothing, which the vast majority of loans
are, and if the loan is lost, what was 'risked'" (Ken)
We are supposing that the banking system is being compelled to act as a
public servant in its money-creating function. Such a function is a
custodianship of the nation's goods and services. Therefore, while the
"tickets" are indeed created out of nothing, the nation is still risking
something, namely, the goods and services that are allocated by means of
the tickets.
