Comments inserted in [ ]: Well, it is
comforting at least to observe that some of our
American friends still exercise a degree of independence of mind! (While
this is still permitted -- although it appears to be increasingly in
jeopardy.) In Canada we have Bolshevik-style "people's courts" called
Human Rights Commissions, and woe betide anyone who is so brash as to speak
one's mind ever so honestly on an expanding variety of topics--especially if
some complaintant charges that he or she is "offended" by one's opinions!
The legal and political establishment here has
discovered a great new fundamental "truism"--i.e., that
allegedly injured emotions are far more deserving of
protection than truth. (Indeed, truth is now known to be an annoying and
quite unacceptable impediment to the implementation of arbitrary policy.)
Discovery of this marvellous previously
unknown bedrock principle should ensure our emergence into a great new
civilization as it will no doubt save wasteage of an enormous amount of energy
on the part of lesser mortals who foolishly imagine that they have an obligation
to think as individuals about the various aspects of existence. With
ultimate knowledge of moral truth--of right and wrong--residing with our legal
and political establishment, we mere citizens may now rest at ease without fear,
responsibility or effort, knowing that we are in righteous and infallible
hands.
In this way, the "Social Credit" can be
commandeered for the "greater" (if not individual), good by those who are
divinely ordained to administer it and the rest of us fortunate fools can relax,
divest ourselves of the delusional notion that we have personal moral and
intellectual responsibilities--and just do as we are instructed. Oh!
Let us anticipate the sublime joys of the simple life--a wonderful new world of
moral and intellectual vacuity!
Wally

Subject: [socialcredit] censorship
"Who are you to talk about censorship,
anyway? For more than a year you prevented me from so much as looking at
your "socialcreditactive" list archive." (Bill) [Wally: As it
turned out, Bill, you probably didn't miss much and possibly saved some
valuable time.]
The archive was for list members, and membership was by
invitation. Not inviting someone is hardly censorship.
[Wally: True, but I think, Michael, that although being acceptable
according with the principles of free association, it was intended
exclusion--was it not?]
Michael
