Hi Wally.
Soddy was a careful and highly skilled scientist, but had the reputation
of being VERY difficult to get on with.
>From being lauded, and honoured with a Nobel prize for REAL science, he
found he was ridiculed when he turned to trying to understand economics, a
pseudo science.
My reading of him was as an embittered man, who even fell out with
Douglas, not a difficult thing to do, as I have heard it from some who
knew Douglas as well.
Soddys writing on political economy is in my opinion superb. Try to lay
hands on his pamphlet "Cartesian Economics" if you can. Most rewarding.
Ken.

Here is another quotation from Professor Soddy: "Science without Social
Credit is sheer suicide." Quoted in Gorman Munson's "Aladdin's Lamp: The
Wealth of the American People," (New York, Creative Age Press, 1945, page
335.) Munson claims that Soddy had moved suffiently toward Social Credit
to offer this statement in support of the Social Credit Party of Great
Britain and Northern Ireland in 1943.
