Hi Michael.

Very true.

>From the earliest days of Norman feudalism, a system that forbade Usury,
it was the inevitable rule that debts, including rent, had to be paid in
goods or services.

In the language of that day " Rente ". A language that also invented the
term "Mortgage ". MORT = Death. GAGE = Grip. DEATHGRIP :-(((

Ken.

"Aren't we losing sight of the fact that the only immediate source of the
money required to pay a land tax is the customer to whom the landowner
supplies a good or service? Unless, of course, he borrows created money
from a bank for the
purpose." (John)

This comment was to the point, and Jeff's response, "What landowner would
that be? Know any who created land?" was flippant. If the tax legally has
to be paid in money, not dirt, the question where the money is to come
from is very relevant indeed.

Michael
