Hi Bill (and Keith),
I have a photcopy of most or all of the relevant sections of this Federal
Government document (pp. 417-99, 695-98) in which Major Clifford Hugh
Douglas is examined by the Select Standing Committee on Banking and
Commerce, April 24 to May 3, 1923 (House of Commons, Ottawa.). My younger
brother Bob provided this years ago when working as Research Director for
the Federal "Social Credit" Party. Sorry I was under the impression that
you already had this in your possession. I have not scanned it yet but will
attempt to do so shortly. Right now, however, I am just in the middle of
shifting over to an iMac from my PC and have the problems of set up,
transfer of e-mails and address book, etc. I will do a search and make some
enquiries re the New Zealand hearings.
It would be helpful if Keith could search the Parliamentary Library but I
believe that some years ago the educational Midas Group (established by Hon.
Alf Hooke, other former Provincial cabinet ministers and others) enquired of
the Library in Ottawa re the 1939 Parliamentary Committee and was informed
that it was not available--so I don't hold out too much hope for the one of
1923. If Keith could find the complete versions of both or either of these
publications, this would be very desirable and certainly appreciated.. It
might be held in a restricted access section.
Sincerely
Wally
