The flag the Boers are using in the de la Rey video is that of the Orange
Free State. The stripes were actually orange in colour, with the
Netherland's red, white and blue flag in the fly. It was likely patterned
after the US, and East India Co.'s flags, and was supposedly designed some
years earlier by the King of the Netherlands at the request of the OFS Boers
to show solidarity with their ancestral homeland.
Very catchy tune, and quite interesting comments from some of the previous
viewers and listeners down below. Thanks for putting that on.
