Suddenly, for some reason today, the list software
began to blank out messages with text in HTML,
although they always came through perfectly before.
I sent some myself on a few occasions. I think that
plain text messages will still get through.
I first noticed it with a message from Keith Wilde
early in the day. Now with a message from John
Hermann.
Earlier, I asked Keith to try to resend his message.
It came in looking like the earlier message, with
nothing but the header. See the attachments in PDF,
photocopies of how the messages looked to me
(assuming they come through). I'm sending copies
directly to Keith and John.
This is similar to some of the problems we were
having at Topica, which progressive got worse, in
quick order making the list unusable.
I checked the moderator settings; they are still set
to receive all formats. There is a block to check if
the intention is to block everything but text--the
block is unchecked.
I'm going to try to communicate with the server's
administration.
In the interim, I'm going to try an experiment, to
check the block limiting messaging to text--to see if
the software will automatically convert HTML to text
and pass the message along, rather than just blanking
it out, which is apparently what is happening now.
I don't have the slightest idea what's going on.
