Hi Wally,
Thanks for forwarding this, and the previous historical files you've
recently sent. There's quite a bit of Ellen Brown's material on the
internet that can be accessed by typing her name into the search bar. I've
never heard of her before, but she's apparently written quite a bit on
'monetary' and other matters.
She seems to be a unabashed 'greenbacker', and wants 'government' to issue
all new credit to fund public works, and create more employment.
I didn't see anything about the 'price system', or her advocating consumer
credits ala 'Social Credit' There's the usual argument about the banker not
creating the interest when he creates the loan, and quite a lot of the
monetary 'myths' that have been discussed and debunked on 'elistas' over the
past several years are presented by her as 'facts'.
I wonder if she is aware of Douglas, (doesn't sound like it), and how what
he offered would be a much better solution if a genuine economic and
political democracy is what's wanted?
It would be nice if she could be made aware of some of the fallacies in her
works, (before they come back to haunt her), especially if she intends to
pursue her writings on 'money' and 'debt' much further and be taken
seriously.
Sincerely,
Joe
