With reference to my previous post, for the information of those who
have not seen it before, please find attached ANTaR's 2004 'report card'
on Indigenous Affairs.
It would be fantastic to see a similar document covering Youth Affairs.
It is interesting to note that this year ANTaR took the unprecedented
step of publicly calling on the public to vote against the Howard
Government, based on its poor performance in the Indigenous Affairs
field. ANTaR usually takes a non-partisan stance to such things,
generally only speaking for or against specific policy statements or
initiatives, and generally playing the role of comparative information
provider (such as through the report card process). As I understand it,
ANTaR has not previously taken such a clear and partisan stance against
any party in the lead up to an election.
Of course, I pass on this information without prejudice, simply to
inform, not (necessarily) influence.
;-)
