If you are interested in reading, writing, exploring, investigating,
researching, pondering, sharing, working, theorising, proposing, thinking,
questioning, suggesting, digging the dirt, sorting out the truth from the
hype, you need:
Making Commitments Matter
In 2005, the United Nations General Assembly will be reviewing the situation
of youth and achievements made in the implementation of the World Programme
of Action for Youth. YouthGAS is keen to work with you, to put together an /
the Australian evaluation for this review.
During the remainder of 2004, young Australians and organisations that work
with / for them, are invited to be a part of this review. The review seeks
to determine what has done to better the lives of young Australians over the
last decade.
There is also a federal election on the 9th October. It is hoped that we can
also cover some election - related discussions. People standing for election
(or people working directly for them) are encouraged to share the news of
their policy happenings in their respective topical area (listed below).
How will it all work? Glad you asked. Read on...
There are 15 themes are available for this evaluation - the full list is
below. Each theme has a number of more specific topics, each with some
suggested key questions for "investigation". We invite you to join us in an
open discussion of your theme of interest below.
The evaluation will be measuring both process (how the policy or programme
has been implemented) as well as the impact (the change which has resulted
from the policy or programme) of national policies that affect young people
(Australia does not have anything that resembles a national youth policy).
We hope to be collate some sort of final "publication" and this will be
determined by which themes are the most discussed and which themes, people
are most committed to being a part of.
