Dear YouthGAS subscriber,
I am investigating the current service provision of 'life skills' based
programs in Secondary Schools (pref. Melbourne-based, however any other
information from other States/Territories would also be welcome).
I fully understand the time constraints of staff working within
Secondary Schools, but would appeciate any feedback/comments from
teaching/welfare staff, who have used external facilitators to run 'life
skills' programs within their schools. If you could please structure
your feedback around the following few short questions:
CUT & PASTE HERE: (for your returned feedback).
________________________________________________________________________________________
1. What factors to you look for when selecting an external service
provider to facilitate programs?
2. Which type of external service provider would you NOT use?
Why?
3. Do you use or have a preference for 1-day programs / sessions,
or more long-term programs?
4. What type of external service providers would you use / NOT use
to provide PD for teaching staff?
5. What do you feel are the current service gaps are in delivering
programs to schools? i.e. costs, standards of external service
providers, access, etc?
6. What are the currents trends of needs for the students within
your school?
When replying to this email, please also include:
a) School Type (Independant/Catholic/Goverment, etc.)
