Youth Gas,
My name is Emily Blyth and I am a part of the organisation Earthsharing
Australia. We have an exciting event coming up that we would like schools
and young people to know about. The events are cost free and an excellent
learning experience. Below is an extract of explanation.
"The Earthsharing Challenge - Challenge Yourself!
Two members of the Earthsharing team will come out to your school/group and
take your students through a 45 minute interactive environmental learning
experience. The workshop is based around Earthsharing Australia's philosophy
of land and natural resources as part of the Global Commons.
More specifically we will explore current environmental issues, eco
footprints and opportunities for further student involvement.
The workshop culminates with a five minute presentation by your students of
your school/groups environmental projects, issues or plans for the future.
This presentation will be filmed by our team and we will compile a video of
environmental projects from schools around Victoria. This film may be used
in other youth environment exhibitions and projects.
Prior to the workshop we ask that you select two student environmental
representatives to attend the Earthsharing Challenge camp, to be held in
Anglesea in late September 2006. The camp involves workshops, speakers and
documentary making and is cost free for student representatives. The
representatives will receive a copy of the environmental documentary made by
the students on the camp in order to present their experience to the wider
school population. This film can be used as a resource for teaching."
Thank you
Regards
Emily Blyth
