Job Description
Title: Senior Youth and Community Development
Worker
Position: 20 Hrs a week, Permanent Part Time
Award: Social and Community Services Award, Grade 3
Dungog Information and
Neighbourhood Service Inc are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Senior
Youth and Community Development Worker to lead the team at Dungog Area Youth
Service (DAYS).
DAYS operate within the
Dungog LGA and facilitate youth programmes and activities targeting young
people 12-18 years within Dungog, Clarence Town, Vacy and Gresford.
Our major youth project
for 2007 is the establishment of a drop in centre and case work at Dungog High
School.
We are seeking a self
motivated and driven person who has a passion for and established skills in,
engaging and working with young people, Dungog High School
and the community.
The Senior Youth and
Community Development Worker will lead the DAYS team of casual youth workers
and work in partnership with the Dungog Information and Neighbourhood Service,
Dungog Youth and Family Counsellor, and Dungog High SPACE Project auspiced by
Dungog Information and Neighbourhood Service Inc.
DAYS is funded by the
Department of Community Services to provide information and referral options to
young people and their families, and support young people to reach their full
potential whilst positively contributing to their local community.
DAYS 3 key priority
areas of service provision include a mix of group activities and individual
youth case work. The 3 key priority areas include developing and
facilitating a High School Drop-in Centre, providing Community Youth Group
Programs and Community Development, and Implementation of Youth Based
Activities.
