Hey everyone,
My name is Emilie "MC" and I volunteer for a radio station in Brisbane called
Switch 1197 AM. As the volunteer co-ordinator, I am asking for any young people
from Brisbane who would like to volunteer at a radio station. Switch is a youth
independent radio station in Brisbane, and we feel that broadcasting on AM allows
us to be the best youth station we can. Our aim is to help young people set foot
into the radio industry, and most importantly, use our station as a vehicle to
pronounce issues regarding Brisbane's youth. I am looking for some young,
dedicated people who would like to gain experience in the radio industry as a
volunteer for the station.
To volunteer, just send me back an email with your resume, cover letter, and
I'll contact you for an interview so you can start straight away. Once you've
got the position, you'll just need to become a member (which only costs $20 a
year), and will include benefits such as VIP competition prizes, discounts, free
CDs, free movie tickets, and heaps more. And all for $20, PLUS you'll make heaps
of good contacts. Therefore these positions are really good for journalism or PR
students, but are open to everyone.

Below are the available positions:
Voice talents -
·Complete voice overs for on-air sponsorship messages, sweepers, stingers (last
two are very short messages, like station identifications).
·Preference for male voice talents (we have an influx of female voices at the
moment!)
·Let me know ASAP and I will contact our sound guy. You will be notified when
your voice is needed J
Segment Producer –
·Co-ordinating Youthlink and Jobline
·RE: Jobline - Source positions for Jobline from different organisations, and
script them so they can be put into production
·RE: Youthlink - Research organisations that cater for our youth demographic,
and script them so they can be put into production
·Only required for one day a week
Community Liason Officer –
·Prepare Community Service Announcements (CSAs) – write out live reads or
prepare them for recordings
·Contact community organisations for future CSAs
·Keep a direct link with community organisations and the station
Membership officer –
·Deals with putting info into database
·Keeping database up-to-date
·Co-ordinate membership payments, ensure transfer of correct funds
·Sending out renewals
·Keeping database up-to-date
·Will become a portal between members and the station
