Subject:[youthgas] Of Substance - January 2007 issue
Date:Wednesday, January 10, 2007  11:56:06 (+1100)
From:Anton Perkins <anton @........au>

Hello,
Thanks to all Of Substance subscribers for their support in 2006 and for the great feedback we have received. Of Substance - the free national magazine on alcohol, tobacco and other drugs - has recently celebrated its 3rd anniversary and more than 11 000 copies of our last quarterly issue (October 2006) are in circulation. Topics examined in 2006 reflect the magazine's diverse audience and include: school drug education, the latest research on medicinal cannabis, petrol sniffing and the introduction of alternative fuels, drug use in multicultural contexts, naltrexone implants, the effectiveness of anti-smoking campaigns, illicit drug use in the Asia-Pacific region, alcohol restrictions in the NT, the effects of drugs on adolescent brain development, substance use among juveniles in detention, diversion of pharmaceutical drugs, and handling clients affected by methamphetamines. For a full index of articles, please visit our website - www.ofsubstance.org.au.

The January 2007 issue is now available and, if you haven't already received your copy, you should have it within the next few days. Articles in this issue include:

Pregnancy: Opportunity for intervention or invasion?

Rolling out a remedy? Opal fuel in the NT

Rural Indigenous drug use: A challenge for police

Comorbidity: Chance for change

Illicits in Asia-Pacific: Australia's role

...and, of course, the latest research reports, conference updates, news, etc.

If you or your organisation are not yet subscribing to one or more free, hard copies of Of Substance, please feel free to sign up via our website - www.ofsubstance.org.au. Please contact me by email if you have any questions about subscribing to the magazine or you would like check on your subscription (for example, if you've changed address recently, or if you'd like to increase or decrease the quantity you are receiving). Very sorry to people who are receiving this email more than once.
Regards,
Anton
