Specific areas of Interest will include: ATSI young
people, youth homelessness,
family conflict, community building, youth participation,
education and employment,
networking/partnerships, youth workshops, local,
national and international research
into youth homelessness. There will be artistic
workshops for young people including
writing, dance, music, film making, and visual arts,
and youth panels for discussion.
Keynote speakers will include Indigenous designer
Alison Page from the New Inventors,
actor Ian Stenlake from Stingers, Mayor Brian Eldridge
from the National Youth Commission,
and Professor Rick van der Zwan from Southern Cross
University.

the challenges and issues for young people in regional and rural areas but

ACADEMIC
/ RESEARCH AND PROGRAM PRESENTATION ABSTRACTS FULL PAPERS
Full papers must
be submitted and will be published electronically on a conference CD and /or
the NRSDC website. Guidelines on full paper submission will be distributed if
your abstract is accepted.
TYPE
OF PRESENTATION (All
presentation modes require an abstract to be submitted – per guidelines
below)
1. Key note or
Plenary: 30 minute presentation with 10
minutes for question / discussion time or,
2. Oral
Presentation: 30 minute presentation for
concurrent session including 5 minutes for question time or, 40 minute
presentation for concurrent session including 10 minutes for question time.
3. Poster
Presentation: Posters should be clear and able to
be read from at least one metre distance. The poster should contain: study
objective, methods, results and conclusion/s. Author/s may provide handout
material relating to their poster.
ABSTRACT
GUIDELINES
Document
format: Microsoft Word, A4 paper, Arial font,
single spacing, justified for body of text. Maximum of 300 words.
TITLE
The abstract title should be short, informative and contain the
major key words. It should be in upper case, Arial, BOLD, 12 pt size, and right
and left justified.
AUTHORS
Abstract Titles should be followed by authors’ last name and
first initial (with the presenting author in bold). Superscript numbers must be
used to indicate the author’s institution, followed by city and state.
ABSTRACT
TEXT Abstract
text must be in Arial, 10pt size, single-spaced and justified. Abstracts are to
be a maximum of 300 words, including references. There is to be a maximum of 2
references. Use standard abbreviations only. Within the body of the abstract,
when using abbreviations spell out the name in full at the first mention and
follow with the abbreviation in parenthesis. Abbreviations may be used in the
title, provided the name in full is outlined in the body of the abstract.
Capitalise the first letter of trade names.
REVIEW
OF ABSTRACTS All
abstracts will be reviewed by Conference Advisory Group. Authors will be notified
if the abstract is accepted and of the presentation format (oral, poster or
symposium) by 13 July 2007.
WORKSHOPS
- DISCUSSION FORUMS AND YOUTH ACTIVITIES The
NRSDC are also seeking expressions of interest to facilitate workshops,
Discussion Forums and Activities aimed at all delegates or the delegates under
24 years old only. All interested individuals or organisations should include a
short proposal no more than 300 words, outlining its aims, process and
requirements. Attached to the proposal should be individual and/or the
organisation
