As a response to the publicity and success surrounding the Schools
Out! Young Men’s Program, we have received an overwhelming response
from schools, teaching organisations and government departments
interested in this innovative program.
The 2-day young men’s program, explores a range of topics, including:
• Self esteem and self-concept;
• Effective communication;
• Anger management and assertiveness training;
• Challenging the masculinity stereotypes;
• Men’s health; and
• Goal setting, motivation and being a male role model.
The young men’s program is targeted towards Year 9 – 10 students, with
Schools Out! being available for travel to schools and organisations
Australia-wide and internationally.
We are NOW taking expressions of interest for TERM 2 2008. Schools
Out! has been taking bookings for the young men’s program from right
across Australia for Term 1, 2008 – with limited dates still available.
As a direct result of program success, Schools Out! has now also made
the Program manuals available for purchase via the Schools Out!
website (simply follow the resources link).
Schools Out! founder, Michael Colling, is a qualified Youth Worker
with a background in Education and has worked extensively with young
people in a range of professional settings. In 2006, he wrote and
co-hosted the national award-winning radio special, ‘Nova’s All Ears’
for Melbourne’s NOVA100 FM, which dealt with youth suicide and
depression. In 2007, Michael’s first book, 'The Other Side of Blue'
was released internationally through Finch Publishing
(www.finch.com.au) – a powerful anthology of autobiographical stories
from young Australians about overcoming adversity.
