Greetings YouthGas,
The Department of Health and Ageing has provided the Mental Health
Council of Australia (MHCA) with $6 million to assist in capacity development for
non-government organisations delivering services relating to mental health.
Organisations don’t have to be strictly mental health
organisations.
MHCA invites a broad range of services to find out more and apply and is
keen to hear from organisations working in: drug and alcohol rehabilitation,
counselling, telephone help lines, family support services, men’s
services, youth services asylum seeker support, eating disorders, suicide
prevention and addiction. There are two opportunities:
- 14 free full day
workshops around the country, designed to build stronger, more effective
organisations;
- one-off grants of up
to $40,000.
Spread this information far and wide. Please forward to your mail lists
and contact anybody who you think could be eligible.
Visit: http://www.mhca.org.au/ for
detail or contact Rachel Irving at rachelle.irving@mhca.org.au or
on (02) 6285 0812.
The first full day workshop is happening in Canberra
in February 1st while the second is happening in Sydney on the 5th so make sure you
register asap.
Cheers,
Brett de Hoedt
Mayor of Hootville Communications
