Hello,
The INSIGHT program on SBS Television is looking to speak to people for an
upcoming program on Child Protection.
If you haven't heard of us, INSIGHTis a weekly one-hour forum discussion
program that goes to air across Australia on Tuesday nights. Jenny Brockie is the
presenter.
In March we're recording a program looking at the way we approach Child
Protection in Australia.
We're keen to speak to:
*Young people over the age of 18 who have had experience with the child
protection system in the past - maybe you've been in foster care, lived in
residential care or alternatively weren't able to get the help you needed from
statutory authorities.
*Former staff or current staff of any of the State child protection
authorities - case workers etc - what were the challenges in doing your job?
* People charged with the responsibility to mandatorily report cases of
suspected child abuse - what positive or negative experiences have you
encountered in doing your job.
*Parents who have managed to get back on their feet or are taking steps to
have children returned.
The program will be recorded in Sydney on the evening of Monday 3rd of March.
Guests selected for the program will be flown to Sydney, and provided with
accommodation if we can't get you home on the same day.
