Hi All,
I am calling on Victorian Local Government Youth Development Officers for your
assistance!
I am a Youth & Familly Services Coordinator in a rural Victorian Shire about to undergo a review for the 'all important' pay rise and I'm feeling....let's say SEVERELY underpaid in my current position.
I know that a poor income is often a hazard of the work we do, but to lay it all
on the table, I have been in my current position for nearly two years now and I
am paid under Local Government Band 4B, which equates to approximately $41,800
gross annual salary ($32,200 nett). Our Youth Participation & Access (YPA) Worker is currently on Band 3D, which is of course even less.
We would love to get a feel for what other workers are currently being paid in
Victoria so that we can start to build a case as to why we deserve a higher
banding locally.
If it's not too much of a personal request, it would be a huge help if you would
be willing to email me a copy of your current position description (and/or any
other youth worker's PD in your team) and your current banding/salary details.
I would really appreciate it - wish me luck eh. Look forward to hearing from you
soon.
Cheers,
Merinda Richards
