As a national, independent, social enterprise The Smith Family supports children and families living in financial disadvantage to create a better future through education. Our vision is a more caring and cohesive Australian community. Our mission is together with caring Australians, The Smith Family will unlock opportunities for disadvantaged families to participate more fully in society. We have a number of programs such as
** Learning for Life scholarships for educational expenses
** student2student - a peer reading support program for Yr 3-8
** Next Steps - an employment preparation program for Yr 10-12
** Tertiary mentoring program - students in TAFE and University are matched with a mentor from their field of interest
** Financial Literacy - focussing on developing money management knowledge and skills

We are making a great impact on communities around Australia, but we need your help. There are a number of ways you can help which are detailed under 'Ways You Can Help' on our website. One of these is to volunteer your time. It could be as easy as a few hours per week helping with administration or helping to set up or run one of our many programs. Our state coordinators are
