2008 NATIONAL DRUG AND ALCOHOL AWARDS CALL
FOR ENTRIES
The National Drug and Alcohol Awards, now in their
5th year, are well established and respected as a highlight of the calendar year
for the sector they reward and represent. In 2003, ADCA, the Ted Noffs
Foundation (TNF), the Australian Drug Foundation (ADF), and the ANCD joined
forces to develop a national awards program. The main aim was and still is to
reward and recognise the fantastic work done by individuals and organisations in
the drug and alcohol sector.
Nominations are now open for the 2008 awards where
you or your organisation can receive up to $5000 in prize money as well as
publicity across the country for the amazing work you have done.
Categories for 2008 are:
The Prime Ministers Award for
Excellence
Excellence in Prevention and Community
Education
Excellence in Treatment and Support
Excellence in Research
Excellence in Services for Young
People
Excellence in Law Enforcement
Excellence in Alcohol and Other Drug Media
Reporting
Excellence in School Drug Education
Honour Roll
This year’s Awards Dinner will be held in Melbourne
at the Plaza Ballroom on Friday 27th June, 2008, a very fitting way to end Drug
Action Week.
There will be special performances by the Choir of
Hard Knocks, and representation by some of the most highly regarded members of
the sector.
