The Oaktree Foundation is Australia's first entirely youth run aid and
development organisation. In 2008, Oaktree will be launching several major
campaigns in which young people in Australia can have a massive impact on our
world.
There are two main opportunities for you to become involved with Oaktree in
2008.
The first is the End Child Slavery Campaign. There are over 8.4 million
children working as slaves around the world today. You can become an End Child
Slavery Ambassador and campaign to bring an end to one of the greatest injustices
of our time - child slavery. Head to www.endchildslavery.org and apply to be an
ambassador today! As a generation, we can make a positive and lasting impact on
this world. Applications close on the 4th of April.
The second way to become involved with Oaktree is the Generate Volunteer
program. The Generate program runs from the end of March to mid-October 2008, it
is designed around the uni calendar and is about a 6-8 hour a week commitment.
Generators selected will help lead the two major campaigns for 2008 - End Child
Slavery and oneday (fundraising). There will be heaps of mentoring, support and
training from the Oaktree team.
To apply, you need to send through your CV and a cover letter (about why you
want to be involved in Generate) to generate.sa@theoaktree.org. You can check
out the website for more info - ignore the application closing date on the site,
it has been extended to this Friday, 28th March.
