In light of the NSW Young
Drivers discussion paper being released (www.youngdrivers.com.au), the NSW Young Drivers
Action Group will be holding a meeting to formulate our position on each
proposal and begin to compose a mass submission.
The meeting shall be held at the Commission for Children and
Young People, Level 2, 407 Elizabeth Street Surry Hills SYDNEY, from 530pm-730pm next Wednesday the 8th
of December.
It is open to predominantly any
young person, but also open to media/youth workers/organisations which have an
interest in the matter.
The aims of the meeting are:
- to analyse the proposals as a group, and begin to formulate a
submission as the NSWYDAG.
- to organise a petition
against any of the proposals found
inappropriate.
It would be useful to bring thoughts about each proposal, as
well as a copy of your own letters/submission if available.
At this point the NSWYDAG is encouraging all young drivers
(and others!) to make their own
submissions.
We encourage the attendance of relevant youth organisations as
part of their consultation processes, or to use as a pilot session for
developing their consultation programs.
If you're able to come along, please RSVP to
info@nswyoungdrivers.org with your name, suburb and contact number / organisation if relevant (for emergency
purposes only), by 11pm Tuesday 7th of December.
Hope to see you there,
Emil Wajs-Chaczko
