Hello all,
Hope you all had a great new year.
Getting straight to some points that i wanted to discuss with you all.....
1.
Its been 7 days and we still have not finished our relief work for the coastal
areas of Tamil Nadu that have been hit by the tsunami. A lot of clothes seem to
be pouring in....but the actual requirements are different.
http://www.truenorthfoundation.blogspot.com
has all the updated info from the field itself. We are refering to this site to
collect the necessary materials based on the demand there. If you know of people
who are sending in supplies or wants to help anywhere in the world, ask them to
go through the site or similar ones to find out what needs to be sent.
2.
As the Vice President of the Australian Alumni Association, Iam also initiating
a plan to utilize the help of Australian experts(from Universities and others) to
study and offer solutions on the health situations and future re-building of the
coastal towns here. We will be contacting the Australian High Commisioner in New
Delhi. We would like them to fly here and spend some time in properly studying
the situations. I think India might lack this area of expertise.
3.
I would like to extend the same appeal to uthgasers who are experts in the area
of rehabilitation, beach management and health. How can Australia/you extend
their/your assistance to our towns and help rebuild?
Hope to hear from you
Regards
Manoj Kumar
