Hi there!
If
you'd like the opportunity to be a mentor for a day (well 2 hours actually!) for
young women, Youth 2 Youth is running their 'Young Women's Tools for
Success' workshop in Canberra and we're looking
for mentors!
When:
there's two dates to choose from - either 15th or 17th March from 11am to 1pm.
Where:
Deakin ACT
What
to bring:
Business cards, and lots of them! Any info about your business/organisation that
you may want to hand out to the young women. Plus, your energy and enthusiasm!
Number
of mentors: There
will be approx 8-10 mentors there on the day, depending on the number
of participants.
About
the program & your role as a mentor...
More
than just an inspiring day of girl power, the workshop provides practical,
empowering skills for young women in Year 10. The workshop
puts young women on the path to success by equipping them with skills
to deal with financial pressures, lifestyle choices, presentation, career
options, and creating their own career opportunities.
The
workshop is the creation of Youth 2 Youth. We are passionate
about empowering, inspiring and skilling the young women of Australia in a fun
and innovative manner. We use successful career women in our workshops and
this is where you come in.
The
workshop requires female mentors to provide hands-on experience as the
participants run through the day's activities - PLUS mentors provide real-life
examples of successful Australian women who are out there making their dreams a
reality every day. We need mentors of all ages, vocations and industries.
There
is no preparation required before the workshop. One of our facilitators will
take you through the activities before and during the workshop, and is
always available for questions on the day. You will be amazed at the
enthusiasm and creativity of the young women participating, and you often gain
just as much from them as they do from you.
Youth
2 Youth is a social enterprise who cares more about making a difference than
making a profit! As such, your role as a mentor is a volunteer
opportunity. If you're interested and available please let us know as soon as
possible, or if you'd like to recommend a friend/colleague as a potential
mentor.
