Hi there youthgassers,
Was hoping someone might have suggestions for me. I am working with a young
person who is wanting to transition from male to female. She is 17 and is
wanting to save sperm before she starts taking hormones. We have contacted
a fertility clinic and they charge $100 per sample (and multiple samples
might need to be taken to ensure viable sperm is frozen) and then $273 a
year to keep the swimmers frozen!
These costs are a little unachievable to a young person on youth allowance!
Does anyone have any idea, no matter how remote, of funding possibilities
for the actual deposit? It is possible for her to pay off the storage costs
throughout the year.
She lives in north west Tasmania.
Hope someone can come up with some suggestions!
