2005 National Symposium: 'Their Lives, Our Work - Critical Questions in Child, Youth and Family Services'

 

Darebin Arts and Entertainment Centre, Melbourne Australia

 

10 - 12 October 2005

 

Co-hosted by the Child and Family Welfare Association of Australia (CAFWAA) and the Centre for Excellence in Child and Family Welfare.

 

The 2005 Symposium is a vital opportunity to hear internationally and nationally-renowned experts on the critical issues and practice challenges facing child, youth and family services.

 

The symposium is designed for those with a work or research focus in out of home care, family services, juvenile justice, education, drug and alcohol, mental health or other therapeutic services.

 

Learn about the latest approaches to critical areas, including

  • Working with young people with sexually abusive behaviours
  • Attachment, trauma and mental health of children, young people and families
  • Drug and alcohol issues
  • Supporting vulnerable children and young people with a disability
  • Enabling educational outcomes for vulnerable and at-risk children and young people
  • Innovative management and service improvement.

Delegates will participate in workshops to enhance their knowledge base and inform their own work across this spectrum of crucial issues.
